Roosterkoek is an old South African favourite braai food made with balls of bread dough cooked on the grid over coals, made fresh everyday.
One of SA's most popular foods and is made from maize (mielie) meal (finely ground).
Stywe pap - ground mielie meal baked in potjie over coals.
Can be sweetened with sugar and honey and milk and enjoyed for breakfast.
Millions of South Africans have been raised on it and is traditionally eaten by hand - taking a piece of pap and dipping it into a sauce - like sous.
Tomato and Onion Sauce simmered slowly with herbs and spices - delicious with Pap or Borewors rolls.
